Notes

Violet wood sorrel (Oxalis violacea) is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It spreads rapidly by runners from its bulbs, so give it room. The leaves fold downward at night and in cloudy weather. It often flowers again in autumn after the leaves have died.

Pairs well with Creeping phlox, Switchgrass, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
