Notes

'White Chocolate' fiveleaf akebia (Akebia quinata 'White Chocolate') is a vine for covering fences, trellises, and arbors. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a rapid rate, so give it a sturdy support and prune it to keep it in bounds. Fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and attract birds. It is also drought tolerant once established.

Pairs well with Ocean spray, Fragrant sumac, and Indian grass.
