Notes

Ocean spray (Holodiscus discolor) is a shrub for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Creamy white, fragrant flowers form large plumes in spring and summer. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms for nectar, and the loose, arching stems carry lobed green leaves.

Pairs well with Salal, Dwarf serviceberry, Vine maple, and Common snowberry.
