Notes

Winter savory (Satureja montana) is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. White to lilac flowers appear in spring, summer, and autumn, and they draw butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer. The fragrant, evergreen foliage grows on multi-stemmed plants that form a tidy low mound.

Pairs well with Creeping thyme, Blue grama, and Garlic chives.
