Notes

Garlic chives (Allium tuberosum) is a bulb for borders, containers, food gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy soil. It forms a clump of green leaves with a mild garlic scent. Creamy white flowers open in summer and again in autumn, and bees and butterflies visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Stella de Oro daylily, Prairie dropseed, and Ice plant.
