Notes
African tuliptree (Spathodea campanulata) is a tree for shade, specimen planting, and tropical gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun. It reaches 25 to 40 feet tall and spreads 15 to 25 feet wide, so give it plenty of room. The flowers are reddish-orange with a yellow edge on each petal.
Pairs well with Flamboyant, Orange bougainvillea, and Ponytail palm.
