Notes

'Alba' dwarf crested iris (Iris cristata 'Alba') is a perennial for rock gardens, shade gardens, woodland gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. White spring flowers have gold crests on the falls, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer. Plants stay 6 to 9 inches tall and tolerate drought.

Pairs well with Eastern columbine, Yellow trout-lily, Sedge, and Western sword fern.
