Notes

Arctic brome (Bromus kalmii) is a grass for naturalizing, dry gardens, and meadow plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy soil. It grows 2 to 3 feet tall on slender stems. The drooping seedheads carry flattened, wheat-like spikelets, and they appear in early to late summer.

Pairs well with Prairie junegrass, Maiden pink, and Sego lily.
