Notes
Arctic dwarf birch (Betula nana) is a shrub for low maintenance gardens and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its many branches grow along the ground before turning up at the tips. The small, rounded leaves are dark green on top and paler beneath.
Pairs well with Sweetgale, Common juniper, Red fescue, and Pearly everlasting.
