Notes
Arrowleaf balsamroot (Wyethia sagittata) is a perennial for low maintenance and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Large, silvery, arrowhead-shaped leaves form tufts with a woody taproot below. Each stem carries a bright yellow, sunflower-like flower. Butterflies and birds visit the plant.
Pairs well with Idaho fescue, Big sagebrush, and Blue Arrow Rocky mountain juniper.
