Notes

Austrian pine (Pinus nigra) is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It stays green all year, handles drought and salt, and attracts birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Give it plenty of space to spread.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Weigela, and Blazing star.
