Notes
Blazing star (Liatris ligulistylis) is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its rose-purple flowers open from early to late summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought.
