Notes

Bay bean (Canavalia rosea) is a vine for low maintenance planting and ground cover. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy soil. It bears pink flowers that attract bees, and it stays evergreen. Drought and salt do not trouble it, and it can spread far, so give it room.

Pairs well with Pride of madeira, Yellow bird of paradise, and Heavy Metal switchgrass.
