Notes

Beach morning glory (Calystegia soldanella) is a vine for ground cover and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy soil. Trailing stems grow from deep rootstocks and carry thick, kidney-shaped leaves. The pink or rose flowers look like garden morning glory and stay open most of the day in cool, humid, coastal air.

Pairs well with Pride of madeira, Canada wild rye, and Heath aster.
