Notes

Heath aster (Symphyotrichum ericoides) is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average soil of most types. It is a bushy plant with grayish stems and tiny leaves that look like those of the heath plant. Dense clusters of small, white, daisy-like flowers attract butterflies and bees in autumn. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Blanket flower, Blue grama, and Paprika yarrow.
