Notes
'Black Hero' tulip (Tulipa 'Black Hero') is a bulb for borders, containers, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Purple flowers open from early to late spring on stems 12 to 24 inches tall. The blooms are fragrant, so you can cut a few for a vase.
Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Angelique tulip, Blue Heron tulip, and Renown tulip.
