Notes

'Blue Lagoon' New York aster (Symphyotrichum novi-belgii 'Blue Lagoon') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, rock gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Its cascading mounds carry clear blue flowers in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Great blue lobelia, Butterfly milkweed, Switchgrass, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
