Notes

'Tiny Tot' New York aster (Symphyotrichum novi-belgii 'Tiny Tot') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, pollinator gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Purple petals with yellow centers open in early to late autumn on a cascading mound that stays 6 to 9 inches tall. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Purple Coneflower coneflower, Prairie dropseed, and Great blue lobelia.
