Notes

Blue paloverde (Parkinsonia Florida) is a tree for low maintenance and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. The blue-green trunk and twigs make food for the tree, since leaves are absent most of the year. Its yellow flowers are a source of honey, and its branches are spiny. It also helps control erosion along drainages.

Pairs well with Brittlebush, Ocotillo, and Chuparosa.
