Notes

Boston ivy (Parthenocissus tricuspidata) is a vine for borders, ground cover, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows fast and climbs on its own, so give it room. Bees and birds visit it, and it handles dry spells well.

Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Black chokeberry, and Indian grass.

Native range

Asia, Manchuria, and Primorye.
