Notes

'Bostoniensis' Boston fern (Nephrolepis exaltata 'Bostoniensis') is a fern for containers, accents, and shade gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun to full shade, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Its arching fronds cascade over the edge of a pot or basket and stay evergreen.

Pairs well with Southern shield fern, Gryphon begonia, and Japanese aralia.
