Notes

'Bressingham Purple' jacob’s ladder (Polemonium caeruleum 'Bressingham Purple') is a perennial for borders and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, with purple blooms in spring and again in summer. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Avens, The Chatelaine lupine, and Ornamental onion.
