Notes

'The Chatelaine' lupine (Lupinus 'The Chatelaine') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and again from early to late summer. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds all visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Peony, Hardy geranium, Sapphire alpine oatgrass, and Purple Sensation ornamental onion.
