Notes

California goldfields (Lasthenia californica) is an annual for low maintenance gardens and ground cover. This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms carpets of gold on open ground where grass is sparse and moisture is ample. Small yellow flowers sit at the end of each slender branch. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with California poppy, Baby blue eyes, and Bluehead gilia.
