Notes
California plantain (Plantago erecta) is an annual for borders and low maintenance gardens. This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows about 12 inches tall and tolerates drought, so you can plant it in a spot that rarely gets watered. White and brown flowers appear in early to late spring. Butterflies visit the blooms, which makes it a fun small addition to a sunny border.
Pairs well with California goldfields, Buckbrush, and Purple lovegrass.
