Notes

Chaparral pea (Pickeringia Montana) is a shrub for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy soil. Purple pea flowers appear near the ends of the branches in spring and again in summer. It sits low on the menu for deer. New stems grow from spreading roots, so give it room.

Pairs well with Woolly bluecurls, Hollyleaf cherry, Soap plant, and Miniature lupine.
