Notes

Chocolate daisy (Berlandiera lyrata) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The yellow daisies smell like chocolate, and you can deadhead the spent blooms to encourage more flowers. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Blackfoot daisy, Stemmy four-nerve daisy, Blue grama, and Indian blanket.
