Notes
Cinnamon clethra (Clethra acuminata) is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its white flowers hang in spicy, perfumed spikes, and brown capsules stay on through winter. It often suckers, so give it room. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Smooth hydrangea, Rainbow drooping laurel, and Christmas fern.
