Notes

Coast live oak (Quercus agrifolia) is an evergreen tree for low maintenance landscapes, hedges, and xeriscape. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average soil of most types. Its thick, gray-green leaves are oval and holly-like. Birds such as titmice, jays, and chickadees visit the tree.

Pairs well with Eastern mojave buckwheat, Rosemary, Lavender, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
