Notes

Cogon grass (Imperata cylindrica) is a grass for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows as a clump of gold, yellow, and green foliage that reaches about 2 to 4 feet tall and wide. Growth is rapid, so give it room. Butterflies visit it, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Hummingbird's mint, Texas bluebonnet, and Autumn fern.
