Notes

Common threesquare (Schoenoplectus pungens) is a grass that suits wet ground. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and moist to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows up to 72 inches tall with dark green stems. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and birds visit it. In the wild it grows in marshes, wet sandy shores, and shallow water.

Pairs well with Yellow marsh marigold, Rush, and Crested wood fern.
