Notes

Common woolly sunflower (Eriophyllum lanatum) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance spots. This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. Its gray, woolly leaves form an open mound topped with yellow, sunflower-like flowers about 2 inches wide. Butterflies visit the blooms, including orange sulfur, red admiral, comma, and skipper butterflies. It sits low on the menu for deer. Plant it in groups for the best show.

Pairs well with Autumn Fire sedum, Green Jewel coneflower, and Blackhawks big bluestem.
