Notes

'Concord Grape' prairie spiderwort (Tradescantia andersoniana 'Concord Grape') is a perennial for borders, containers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It bears purplish blue flowers in late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies visit the blooms. The plant stays low at 9 to 12 inches tall, so it is easy to care for.

Pairs well with Big bluestem, Inkberry, and Purple loosestrife.
