Crimson flag lily (Hesperantha coccinea) is a clumping perennial for borders, containers, rain gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. The large, shining, saucer-shaped flowers are scarlet and open in autumn. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.
