Notes
Damianita (Chrysactinia mexicana) is a shrub for borders, low maintenance beds, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its dark green, fragrant leaves stay on the plant all year, and golden yellow flowers bloom mainly in spring and then on and off through summer. Prune it lightly after bloom to shape it. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with American century plant, Silver feather grass, and Shrubby bindweed.
