Darkie spinach

Garden uses

Notes

'Darkie' spinach (Spinacia oleracea 'Darkie') is a vegetable for containers and food gardens. It is typically grown as an annual. Few crops handle cold as well, and with a little winter protection it grows on through light freezes. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It has an erect habit and grows at a rapid rate.

Pairs well with Great Lakes lettuce, Ruby Queen beet, and Moss Curled parsley.
