Notes

Decurrent false aster (Boltonia decurrens) is a perennial for borders, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows fast to 4 to 6 feet tall, with gray-green foliage. Pale pink to white flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies visit them.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Golden club, and Ornamental onion.
