Notes
Feather reed grass (Calamagrostis acutiflora) is a grass for rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet soil. It grows 36 to 60 inches tall and stays narrow, spreading only 12 to 24 inches. The flower plumes are purplish green, so you can use it as a tall, upright accent.
Pairs well with Dense blazing star, Mexican hat, and Indian grass.
