Notes

Desert princesplume (Stanleya pinnata) is a perennial for borders, meadows, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy soil. Tall stalks reach about 5 to 6 feet and carry bright yellow flowers that look like cleomes. The blooms attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The lower leaves look feathery.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Rubber rabbitbrush, and Fourwing saltbush.
