Notes
Dusty miller (Jacobaea maritima) is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to average soil of most types. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Its silver-white foliage forms a clumping mound and grows at a rapid rate. Butterflies visit the cream to yellow blooms, and the plant tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Russian sage, Blue fescue, and Garden verbena.
Native range
Northern Africa, western Asia, and Europe.
