Notes

Dwarf fern-leaf bamboo (Pleioblastus distichus) is a grass for ground cover and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. It grows 12 to 18 inches tall and spreads 18 to 30 inches wide. It rarely flowers, so you grow it for its foliage. Give it room to spread.

Pairs well with Lady in Red lady fern, Palm sedge, and Ebony spleenwort.
