Notes

Dwarf fern-leaf bamboo (Pleioblastus variegatus) is a grass for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a rapid rate and spreads sideways. Its white foliage brightens a planting. Give it room, or edge the bed to keep it in bounds.

Pairs well with Ice Dance Japanese grass sedge, Fairytrail Bride hydrangea, New York aster, and Turkscap lily.
