Notes
Turkscap lily (Lilium superbum) is a bulb for borders, pollinator gardens, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. Tall stems carry several drooping orange flowers with maroon spots and strongly recurved petals. Each bloom has a green star at its center. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Hardy hibiscus, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Wild ginger, and Bottlebrush buckeye.
