Notes

'Early Amethyst' beautyberry (Callicarpa dichotoma 'Early Amethyst') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows at a rapid pace into a dense mound and tolerates drought. Bees, butterflies, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with False indigo, Ironweed, and Kentucky bluegrass.
