Notes

Beautyberry (Callicarpa dichotoma) is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink flowers draw butterflies, bees, and birds, and the dense growth fills out quickly. It sits low on the menu for deer. Once settled, it also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with False indigo, Japanese holly, and Sarah Bernhardt peony.
