Notes

'Earlybird Purple White' columbine (Aquilegia 'Earlybird Purple White') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Outward-facing purple flowers bloom freely on tidy mounds 12 inches tall and wide, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It is short-lived but self-seeds.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Yarrow, and Oriental poppy.
