Notes
'Evening Light' Japanese snowbell (Styrax japonicus 'Evening Light') is a small tree for specimen planting, small gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Its dusky burgundy-black leaves turn burgundy-green in summer. Fragrant white flowers hang from layered branches in late spring. Older trees show orange inner bark that adds winter interest.
Pairs well with Bridal wreath spiraea, Snowdrop, and Evelyn rose.
