Notes

Bridal wreath spiraea (Spiraea prunifolia) is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, hedges, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its arching stems carry double white blooms in spring, and butterflies visit them. Deer tend to pass it by. It grows 4 to 8 feet tall and wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Amsonia, Queen of Night tulip, and Christmas fern.

China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
