Notes

Fan clubmoss (Lycopodium digitatum) is a perennial for ground cover, shade gardens, and woodland plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy soil. It looks like a conifer, but it is a clubmoss, a relative of ferns that makes spores instead of seeds. The evergreen leaves stay dark green all year. Once it is established, it spreads quickly by stems that lie just at the soil surface.

Pairs well with Mini Skirt hosta, Canadian white violet, and Canada wild rye.
