Notes

'Fargo' European white birch (Betula pendula 'Fargo') is a tree for specimen, accent, and rain garden plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a pyramidal shape, and the leaves show fall color. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms in early to late spring.

Pairs well with Royal fern, American hornbeam, and Spotted joe-pye weed.
